By Apostle Mike
Introduction
Apostle Mike begins the Sunday 14 September sermon by narrating a dream. In the dream he was bitten by a snake. Frantically, he searched for a hospital to find anti-venom, but none was available. Surprisingly, the snake bites began to heal on their own, and within minutes, he had fully recovered. This dream illustrates the reality of divine protection over believers, that even in the face of danger, God sustains and delivers His children.
In Deuteronomy 31:6, the bible says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” The scripture means that God walks with believers, the favor of God accompanies believers.
Is God Concerned About the Believers’ Protection? Yes.
The Lord Knows and Understands Believers
Job 38:1–2 – “The Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?”
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
God Gave Believers Authority to Order Their Day
Job 38:12–13 – “Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place, that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?”
Authority is within believers—it is in their hands. Divine protection is already granted; they only need to activate it by commanding their morning.
The Word of God Brings Personal Revelation
Job 42:2 – “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”
Understanding and applying the Word empowers believers to claim divine protection.
Dimensions of Divine Protection
God is Our Refuge and Fortress
Psalms 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
The Presence of God is Our Shield
Isaiah 43:2 – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Exodus 14:19–20 – “Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel.” All these verses reveal that God’s presence is a shield for believers.
In conclusion, Apostle Mike says divine protection is not a promise for a life without challenges but an assurance that God is always present, shielding, guiding, and restoring His people. Believers must therefore walk in faith, stand on the Word, and activate God’s covering through prayer.
