The Kiambu County Government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has rolled out auditions for the much-anticipated Kiambu County Youth Talent & Innovation Event 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by the Directorate of Youth Affairs, seeks to give young people a platform to showcase their creativity, innovation, and skills in celebration of International Youth Day 2025.
This year’s event runs under the theme: “Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future; Empowering Youth, Building Tomorrow.”
The program is targeting young stars aged between 18 and 35 in the following categories:
- Creative Arts (music, fine arts, fashion and design, poetry)
- Sports
- Youth in Agriculture
- Tech Innovation
- Mr. & Miss Youth Kiambu County Pageant
According to the County Government, the auditions present an opportunity for youth to be recognized as leaders and change-makers, showcase their innovations and talents across the county, win awards, secure mentorship opportunities, and contribute to shaping a sustainable future.
Auditions are being conducted in four zones across Kiambu County.
- Zone One (Thika, Gatundu North, Gatundu South) was hosted in Thika on 16th August.
- Zone Two (Juja, Ruiru, Kiambu) followed on 17th August at Githurai Market in Ruiru Sub-County.
Winners from Zone One and Zone Two will now advance to represent their regions at the Grand County Finals on 29th August 2025 at the Kiambu County Headquarters, where Governor Dr. Kimani Wamatangi will grace the event as the chief guest.
The auditions continue this weekend with:
- Zone Three (Kiambaa, Kikuyu, Kabete) set for Saturday, 23rd August 2025 at Kikuyu Town New Bus Park.
- Zone Four (Limuru, Githunguri, Lari) scheduled for Sunday, 24th August 2025 at Limuru Metropolitan area.
As the zones battle it out, all eyes are now on which region will emerge with the most promising talents and innovators to carry the county’s flag at the grand finale.
