Kahawa Sukari MCA aspirant Janet Wambui Kimiti was among the leaders who warmly welcomed Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua at Githurai during his day-long tour across the Mt. Kenya region on Sunday.
Gachagua, who has officially declared his interest in the presidency, began the day with a church service at PCEA Ruringu in Nyeri County before making a series of stopovers across various towns. One of the most electrifying rallies took place in Githurai, where thousands of residents turned up to listen to the DCP leader and his team.
The crowd was so massive that movement was almost impossible, with residents eager to hear from Gachagua and the leaders accompanying him.

When Janet Kimiti was given an opportunity to address the gathering, she sent the crowd into cheers after urging them to take handouts from the government whenever offered, reminding them that the money belongs to the people.
“Eat the money—it is your money. But remember this government is still a WANTAM government,” Janet declared, drawing applause from the charged crowd.
Janet, who has declared her bid to contest for the Kahawa Sukari Ward MCA seat in 2027 under the DCP banner, went further to throw her full support behind Rigathi Gachagua’s presidential bid, stating that the former Deputy President has what it takes to steer the country in the right direction.
“Rigathi Gachagua for President,” she said.
Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by a host of DCP leaders, reiterated his commitment to championing the needs of ordinary citizens, particularly in the Mt. Kenya region, as he kick-starts his journey to State House.
The day’s tour marked one of his first public appearances since declaring his presidential ambitions, with supporters across different towns turning out in large numbers to welcome him.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, Gachagua’s message of grassroots empowerment and Janet Kimiti’s strong voice for Kahawa Sukari residents highlight the growing momentum within the DCP as it positions itself as a people-centered party.
