Hon. Stephen Kigathi Kionywe, an accomplished real estate leader and the director of the award-winning Hotstep Holdings Limited, has been elected the new Chief Whip of the Association of Real Estate Stakeholders (RESA). The announcement came during this year’s much-anticipated RESA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections held at Elysian Resort on Kiambu Road.
Kigathi’s unopposed rise to this prestigious role is no surprise to many. Known for his results-driven leadership and unwavering commitment to real estate reforms, his influence and popularity continue to grow—both within RESA and across Kiambu County. Previously serving as the Chairman of the Lobbying Committee, Kigathi has consistently demonstrated a unique ability to unify stakeholders and champion policies that protect property investors and landowners.
Speaking during the elections, the newly elected Chief Whip thanked the outgoing office led by Chairman James Kinyua Wairatu, urging him to collaborate with the new leadership for the betterment of the association.
“I will be like your Member of Parliament,” Kigathi assured members, pledging to act as a strong link between the committee and its members. “I accept this role not for the title, but for the opportunity to serve, organize, unify, and energize this association towards our shared vision. We will continue uniting and bringing people on board, while firmly dealing with those who exploit our members.”
